Minimally Invasive Surgical Options

Gambrills Veterinary Center is at the forefront in offering minimally invasive surgeries. We can visualize structures through the use of special scopes and miniature video cameras. Through the use of Laparoscopy, a small abdominal incision is made and a slender camera is used to see inside the abdomen and perform surgery.

Small incisions decrease your pets' blood loss, post-surgical pain, risk of infection, and length of recovery. ï»¿

We Offer Many Endoscopic Procedures Including

  • Laparoscopic spays which are 65% less painful than traditional techniques
  • Prophylactic gastropexies where the stomach is sutured to the abdominal wall to prevent bloat
  • Cystoscopy to diagnose and treat urinary disease
  • Laparoscopic exploratories to search for cancer or take liver biopsies
  • Rhinoscopy to diagnose breathing problems
  • Laparoscopic-assisted cryptorchid surgery to remove retained testicles
  • Otoscopy to diagnose and treat chronic ear infections

Why Choose Laparoscopy and Endoscopy?

  • Faster recovery: Smaller incision sizes and less need for anesthesia drugs means less post-op complications and faster recovery
  • Precision: Specialized scopes and video systems makes it easier for the surgeon to see what they are doing. Your pet gets a safer and more precise procedure
  • Less pain: Minimally invasive surgery patients require smaller dosages of anesthesia and less pain medication
  • Reduced risk of infection: Keeping incisions small reduces exposure to infections

Veterinary technicians report that laparoscopic patients rest more comfortably and recover more quickly than traditional surgery patents.

Advances in equipment and newer techniques in Rigid Endoscopy allow Gambrills Veterinary Center to provide affordable and practical laparoscopic care to your pets. Owners are accustomed to the decreased pain and recovery times associated with rigid endoscopy performed on themselves and request the same level of care for their pets.

We have been providing minimally invasive surgery for your pet for over 10 years!
